Have some inspiration for going green?  How creative can you be with recycled materials?  Register today as a fashion designer for our Couture for a Cause and show your stuff on April 18th!


Entry forms must be completed and received by March 31st. Each entry form must include a $25 application fee per submitted outfit. All completed forms will be accepted on a first come, first serve basis until the show is full. Any forms received after the show is full will be returned. Additional details are included with the Entry Form.

COSTUME SPECIFICATIONS:

All outfits must contain only recyclable materials. Think outside of the recycle bin!! Let your imagination go! Your creation can be made out of just about anything "used". Recycled fashions must be made of at least 75% recycled or reused materials that otherwise would be thrown away or recycled. Vintage clothes & clothes made out of trash bags will not be accepted. Complete outfits are recommended. See full rules for additional details.

JUDGING CATEGORIES:

The winners will be selected by a panel of local “celebrity” judges. All contestants will be judged according to the following areas: Use of Recyclable Materials, Creativity, Originality and Most Outrageous, Most Wearable, Oh My Gosh - I’ve got to have it! Prizes will be awarded to the top point-getter in each category.

RULES OF SUBMISSION

Submissions must be original, must be the work of the submitting Applicant or team, and cannot infringe on any copyright, other intellectual property right, or the right of privacy or publicity or any other right(s) of any third party (best to stay away from prominently displaying company logos unless you have written consent). Recycled fashions must be made of at least 75% recycled or reused materials that otherwise would be thrown away or recycled. Vintage clothes & clothes made out of trash bags will not be accepted. Complete outfits are recommended. Applicants should keep in mind that any fashion viewed as offensive, obscene or too revealing will not be allowed on the runway and they will forfeit their entry fee.

COLLABORATIONS

Churches, schools, groups, clubs and other organizations are encouraged to collaborate on a fashion show entry. In the event of collaboration, each participant within the group must sign the application form. Fees and prizes will be awarded as applicable to each piece, not as applicable to the number of people in the collaboration.

SELECTION PROCESS

Entries will be selected on a first-come, first-serve basis. Entries will be accepted until 5 p.m., March 31st or until all the slots in the show are filled, whichever happens first.

IF YOU ARE SELECTED

Selected entries will be notified via telephone or email. If all slots are filled, applicants will be notified and application fees will be returned. All Newspaper dress, made from 30 copies of the selected applicants will receive detailed logistical information by or before March 31st. All applicants will be responsible for supplying a model for the fashion show, be it themselves, a friend, or other model.

FASHION CONSIDERATIONS

Please note that backstage space is limited. Your outfit must allow the model to walk down an aisle, up stairs, and return back down stairs. We encourage you to create fashions that are fun and creative. Please make sure that materials used in pieces are safe to yourself, model and the public.

GENERAL CONDITIONS OF PARTICIPATION

By participating, Applicants and artists agree that they meet the eligibility requirements as stated in the Couture with a Cause Fashion Show Official Rules. By applying and/or participating, Applicants and artists agree to 1) abide by Official Rules and decisions of producers, host and judges 2) to hold harmless producers, host, sponsors, employees, volunteers, and other involved in planning or production of event from any claims, actions, or demands, losses, damages, or liabilities arising out of their participation in the contest and any related activities.
